Meet Today's Guest Mentor 

Jayde Powell is a content creator and marketing professional from Atlanta, Georgia, specializing in written and short-form video content. With over nine years of experience building the social media presences and communities of various brands, Jayde has taken her experiences and knowledge and established herself as a well-respected creative, writer, and speaker, where she uses her storytelling insight to speak to topics from marketing and wellness to travel and the cannabis industry.  

She is most notable for her authentic presence on Twitter, which she describes as a combination of “Black girl magic and creativity”. 

Jayde’s eye for creative content can be seen in her work for Netflix, Proctor & Gamble, Sunwink, Delta Air Lines, Adweek, Hashtag Paid, and SproutSocial. In addition to her professional marketing experience, Jayde has a strong education in international studies. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Georgia State University, where she also studied international business and marketing. Jayde’s love for immersing herself in new cultures can be seen in her travels and her outspoken championing for diversity, equity, and inclusion in the marketing and advertising industry; which she frequently tweets about on her personal Twitter account.

Jayde is also one of the founders of Weed For Black Women, a media, culture, and community hub that strives to educate Black women on the power of the cannabis plant, inspire involvement and change within the cannabis industry, while destigmatizing cannabis use.
